The Fairfax at Embassy Row and 2100 Prime will host the Fourth Annual Capital Wine Festival starting January 25. The 10-week dinner event kicks off with a grand opening reception on January 25 at 6:30 p.m. which will highlight the 10 wineries sponsoring the event. New this year, the Capital Wine Festival will also feature local wineries at the reception reiterating its commitment to “buy local; drink local.”
Modeled after the prestigious Boston Wine Festival, the dinners, hosted by the winemaker or proprietor, this year will showcase wines from California, Portugal and Italy. This year’s selection of wineries are unique and exquisite, providing a once in a life time opportunity to taste outstanding new wines, while learning of the winemaker’s approach to their winemaking. Founder of the event, Daniel Bruce has invited these wineries for 2013 as they represent some of his favorite wineries from California, Italy and Portugal.
Menus will be created by Chris Ferrier, Executive Chef for the hotel and 2100 Prime. Each menu is individually created to complement the vintner’s selection for that dinner. Tickets can be purchased online at www.capitalwinefestival.com or by calling 202 736-1453.
